Livingston County Sheriff Department
|
Emergencies Dial 911
|
GENERAL INFORMATION
Livingston County covers approximately 512 square miles with 16 townships, 2 Cities, 8 villages and a population of approximately 160,000. We have two major Interstates running through the county which has made Livingston County the fastest growing county in Michigan for several years. With Flint to the North, Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti to the South, Detroit with its many suburbs to the East and Lansing just West of our county line you can see why Livingston County has become a "bedroom community".
The Sheriff Department is the largest single agency in Livingston County. Sheriff Deputies perform the majority of the law enforcement duties and emergency services in the county. In addition to the law enforcement duties we maintain the only jail, provide court security, marine patrols, civil division, Detective Bureau and many other services.
